Product Profile

Gold mining carpet (also called miner's moss, sluice mat or gold trapping carpet) is a flexible mat laid at the bottom of a gold sluice box to trap alluvial gold. Its fibrous structure creates eddies and dead zones under flowing water, so heavy gold particles settle into the fibers while lighter gravel is washed away. We offer three mainstream types: (1) Green upright grass type (PE artificial turf, 20-30 mm thick, for 1-6 mm alluvial gold); (2) Multi-color curly loop type (PVC curly filaments, 16-26 mm thick, multi-color, fine gold recovery); (3) Black rubber-backed type (black curly filaments with anti-slip rubber backing, 10-22 mm thick, heavy-duty). All three are available as rolls, 0.5-1.2 m wide, 2-6 m cut lengths, or full rolls (1 m × 15 m). Widely used in alluvial gold sluice boxes, vibrating screens, trommel washers and centrifugal concentrators.

Main Types:

1. Green upright grass type 

Made of PE (polyethylene) with upright grass filaments similar to artificial turf. Pile height 20-30 mm, fabric backing. Green is standard; best for trapping 1-6 mm alluvial gold. One roll 1 m × 15 m, approx. 50-80 kg. Upright filaments create eddies as water flows through, so gold settles between the filaments. Suitable for trommel washers, fixed sluice boxes and mobile gold plants.

2. Multi-color curly loop type 

Made of PVC plastic with curly loop filaments similar to entrance mats. Thickness 15-18 mm, black rubber anti-slip backing. Wide color range (purple/black/grey/white/red/blue/green) for layer identification. Weight 1800-2300 g/m², good for fine gold recovery. Width is usually 1. 2 m, length 9m per roll. The curly filaments create numerous micro dead zones — excellent for fine gold. Suitable for multi-stage sluices, vibrating screens and fine-gold recovery.

3. Black rubber-backed type 

Made of PVC/rubber with black curly loop filaments and a black rubber backing featuring dot-pattern anti-slip texture. Thickness 10-22 mm, supplied as a roll with a cardboard core. Black is dirt-resistant and wear-resistant — suited to heavy-duty conditions. The dot-pattern backing grips the sluice box and prevents sliding, easy to fix. Roll width approx. 1 m, length cut to order. Suitable for large gold plants, trommel washers and long-term field operations.
